Stephen Kimak

Stephen is a New Jersey State Registered Architect. During his decades-long career in architecture, he specialized in designing custom homes, taking projects from conceptualization to installation of finished interiors. Since joining Ethan Allen team, Stephen has had the opportunity to fully pursue his passion for interior design. In his words, “I thoroughly enjoy the aspect of my job that allows me to interact with clients in effort to make their aesthetic dreams come true. I most enjoy hearing, ‘It’s even better than I imagined it would be.’”

Stephen believes in a careful balance of functionality and beauty. In his words, “Of course our interiors should be beautiful; that is most often where the professional designer comes in. Those same interiors must function for the occupants’ needs as well. People do live in their homes after all.”

Stephen feels it is important to get to know his clients well enough to understand their lifestyles, routines, and tastes. He says, “Interior design can be a somewhat intimate endeavor. A degree of familiarity with your client always results in better design.”

As a member of the Ethan Allen team Stephen, has set a personal goal: “I hope to increase the general public’s understanding of Ethan Allen as a comprehensive design resource. Yes, we are that pretty retail venue where you can walk in on any given Saturday and find the perfect reading chair, customize it, and have it delivered in a few short weeks. However, we are so much more! At Ethan Allen we, together, can design and furnish your entire living environment; we can truly transform a house into your home.”
