May I help you? It seems our shaggy friend here is wondering how you wandered into its pastoral landscape. Artist Chris Dunker's charming portrayal of the rolling sandy hills of the North Sea in the Netherlands has a sweet, whimsical tone that makes you feel joyously immersed in the wonder of nature.

  • Giclée on paper
  • Set in a solid wood frame with a transparent gray finish highlighting its natural variations and beauty
  • Includes everything needed for simple, safe, secure, level, no-wire hanging
  • Framed by hand by master craftsperson's specializing in framing techniques

  • Chris Dunker has photographed industrial culture and the vast rugged terrain of his home state, Utah, for over two decades. Chris grew up in China Lake, California located in the isolated and remote high desert east of the Sierras and 100 miles west of Death Valley. This austere and wild environment of his more formative years heavily influenced his artistic practice today. His father, a photographer and industrial film maker, introduced photography to Chris at an early age. Chris attended Al Weber Workshops and classes at the community college where Chris’s father taught photography. He later went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Art and Design with a photography concentration and a minor in Philosophy from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In 1995 he completed a Masters of Fine Arts in photography from Utah State University. Grounded in the present yet rooted in the past, his compelling images convey a uniquely romantic, and often nostalgic, perspective on the dramatic and wild natural landscapes of today’s American west. From a band of wild horses, to dramatic skies and expansive horizons, Chris Dunker’s work is diverse in its subject matter yet unified by his distinct artistic perspective.
